Beaches in Novalja

There are few places on the Adriatic that, like Novalja, can boast of beautiful natural beaches in their immediate vicinity. Starting from Novalja to the north or south, east or west, you will come to one of these uniquely beautiful beaches that will give you complete pleasure. The beaches are very spacious, sandy and pebble, with clear sea and excellent access and entrance to the sea, so they are especially suitable for families with children. They are 1 to 3 km away from Novalja, forming a kind of ring around it. All beaches can be reached by car and all have parking spaces.

Babe Beach

The beach lies in a shallow bay west of Novalja. This is the shallowest and warmest of Novalja’s beaches, with fine sand and a narrow coastal belt. In recent years, the beach has been enriched with catering and recreational facilities.
One part of the beach is intended for pets!

Branicevica beach

It is located next to the beach Straško, and this beach is very long, and in its hinterland is located the village Gajac. It has a good catering offer and some recreational facilities. All other facilities are located a few dozen meters from the beach within the village.

Caska beach

It is located east of Novalja, on the site of a former Roman city that, according to legend, was destroyed and sunk in an earthquake in the 4th century, and whose remains can be found near the beach and on the seabed. Access to the sea is mostly sandy. The seabed descends very steeply, which makes the beach extremely deep. On the beach there is a catering offer and some recreational facilities.

Jadra beach

The beach is located near Stara Novalja (Old Novalja) and in some places is covered with fine pebbles and the entrance to the sea is gradual, while in some places it is rocky, so you enter directly into the deep sea.

Lokunje beach

It is a Novalja city beach, located along the southern edge of Novalja bay. It is pebbly, shallow and warm, with a green belt that makes it pleasant to rest and refresh on hot summer days.

Straško beach

Straško beach, with the camp of the same name, is located south of Novalja, in a wide bay open to the open sea. It is about 1.5 km long, and after a short rocky entrance to the sea, you come to a sandy bottom. Along the beach there is one of the largest and naturally most beautiful camps on the Adriatic with catering, entertainment and sports and recreational offer, various workshops, children’s playgrounds, etc. The whole area is covered with forest which gives the site a special charm. Since the summer of 2004, the beach has had a Blue Flag.
There is camp on the beach. The beach of Camp Straško is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Pag, and it stretches over 2000 m of coastal space. Its coastal part is a pebble surface, while the sea is fine sand. Along the entire length of the beach there is a promenade where there are restaurants such as beach bars and patisseries and accompanying facilities such as an aquapark, a diverse animation program. You can also enjoy a variety of medical and relaxing massages close to the camp’s beach.

Planjka – Trinćel beach

The beach is located north of Novalja, along the southeast coast of the bay of Stara Novalja. It is covered with fine sand, it is warm and shallow and well decorated. It has a catering offer and various recreational facilities. Due to the excellent landscaping and conditions it has, the beach has been carrying the Blue Flag since the summer of 2004. In the actions of the Croatian Tourist Board and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the media “Blue Flower” and “Tourist Flower”, the beach was the winner of two awards – for the most beautiful and for the most beautiful beach on the Adriatic Sea.

Ručica beach

The beach is 1 kilometer away from Metajna (small settlement within the town of Novalja, on the island of Pag) and can be reached by boat or car. The beach is a combination of gravel and sand, has no natural shade and has some catering facilities.

Mata beach

The quiet bay of Mata near Luna has hidden beaches and coves surrounded by centuries-old olive trees. The beaches are covered in places with fine stone and in some parts are concrete or stone. There are no additional facilities in the bay.

Sveti duh

It is a sandy – pebble beach within the private camp “Sveti duh”.
